A mattress company with ten manufacturing facilities across the US had a specific goal: They wanted to explore technology to improve the reliability and capacity of its data storage. But during the engagement, a more pressing need came to light.
While the company’s existing hardware and network infrastructure met their day to day needs, company executives were uncertain whether it would have the ability to scale with their plans for growth. Sendero was engaged to create a roadmap that would give their IT team the ability to support their future expansion with a scalable infrastructure, appropriate applications, and access to talent when needed.
In addition to Infrastructure improvements, the team uncovered ways that the client could improve manufacturing efficiencies, product quality, customer relations — and even their corporate culture.
Once engaged, the Sendero team began by conducting interviews to assess the state of the company’s technology, identifying key issues, risks and opportunities. From there, Sendero created a future state vision and design. The team analyzed needed capabilities, assessed the fit of services such as Platform as a Service and Network as a Service, and designed the appropriate high-level network and organizational structure to support the vision.
After identifying the gaps between their current state and future vision, Sendero developed a roadmap of initiatives that would take the company to their desired outcome.
